How to Apply for Carlow University Scholarships

To apply, international students should provide the following items (requirements may vary per program; see individual program pages):

  • Completed the online application (establish a Bridge to Carlow account).
  • Official transcripts and official credential evaluations
  • Proof of English language competency.
  • Copy of passport.
  • Please keep in mind that if Carlow decides that you or someone on your behalf submitted any fake documents, your application will be withdrawn immediately, and you will no longer be eligible for admission.

Official transcripts and official credential evaluations

Official transcripts from all institutions attended must be delivered directly to Carlow University or accompanied by a certified credential evaluation.

Originals and notarized (certified) copies are necessary. We will not accept transcripts supplied by students.

As an applicant, you must get your transcript(s) officially assessed by a current member organization of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. Preferred NACES members are:

First-Year Students: When requesting a recognized credential review, specify the cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale and whether the credential is equal to a high school diploma in the United States.

Transfer, Adult, and Graduate Students: When requesting a recognized credential examination, specify a course per course evaluation.

Please request that the evaluation company transmit the official evaluation report and transcript(s) directly to Carlow University.

They will not accept transcripts or certified credential evaluations submitted by students.

Proof of English language competency.

You must demonstrate proficiency in the English language. To do so, you must submit your official results from one or more of the following standardized tests directly to the appropriate testing agency.

TOEFL (registration information): A minimum of 90 on the internet-based test is preferred, with no subsection scoring less than 20 points. Carlow’s school code is 2421.

IELTS (registration information): 6.5 is the preferred minimum score.

Duolingo (registration information): A minimum score of 120 is preferred, with no subsections falling below that.

SAT (registration information): The preferred superstore (EBRW+Math) is at least 990, with an Evidence-Based Reading and Writing subscore of at least 510. Carlow’s school code is 2421.

ACT (registration information): A preferred superscore (composite) of at least 19 plus a combined English+Reading subscore of at least 38. Carlow’s school code is 3638.

You may be exempt from English proficiency requirements if you were born and reared in Canada, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia, Ireland, Belize, or Jamaica.

You are a transfer, adult, or graduate student who has completed 24 or more credits (excluding ESL courses) at an approved college or university in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia, Ireland, Belize, or Jamaica and received a “C” or above.
