Scholars CribUniversity of Missouri Transfer Scholarships: Scholarships are available for students transferring to Mizzou from other colleges and universities and do not require an additional application.
Once you apply and are admitted, you will be automatically eligible for a variety of scholarships listed below.
Students who transfer with 120 or more credit hours are not eligible for the automatic transfer scholarships.
Scholarships are exclusively available to students studying for their first bachelor’s degree. Eligibility is determined upon acceptance by Mizzou.
All awards are renewable if specific requirements are met. Unless stated otherwise, none of these scholarships can be combined. For more particular information, go to the Student Financial Aid website.
Students transferring with 120 or more credit hours are ineligible for automatic transfer scholarships.
Automatic transfer scholarships are only available to students who are pursuing their first bachelor’s degree. Once you have been accepted to Mizzou, your eligibility will be examined.
Transfer student scholarships are not available to first-time college students who have already achieved college credit or an AA degree.
University of Missouri Transfer Scholarships: Automatic Awards
Once you apply to Mizzou, you will automatically be considered for a variety of scholarships.
Receiving Scholarships
To be eligible for a transfer scholarship, you must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours) at the University of Missouri’s Columbia campus.
Scholarships are only available for the fall and spring semesters; consequently, you cannot receive these rewards during the summer semester.
Transfer scholarships may be decreased to maintain your overall financial assistance package within your cost of attendance for the academic year, or in cases where other sources are covering or waiving tuition and fees for you.
If you become a Missouri resident while earning a nonresident award, you will lose eligibility for this grant.
Unless otherwise specified, all Mizzou scholarships are not transferable to other schools within the University of Missouri System.
Transfer student scholarships are not available to first-time college students who have already achieved college credit or an AA degree.
Renewal Criteria
You are eligible for transfer scholarships for an additional three years, for a maximum of six consecutive fall or spring semesters (these scholarships cannot be used during the summer semester), or until you acquire enough credits to obtain a bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first. To stay eligible for these scholarships, you must complete the renewal requirements listed below.
Requirements for renewing automatic scholarships:
- Must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours);
- Remain consistently enrolled each academic year in the fall and spring terms (the award does not apply to the summer semester).
- Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
Other Awards
All scholarships, grants, and financial aid you receive may be decreased if the sum exceeds your maximum cost of attendance.
If you believe you have additional educational costs that exceed your standard Cost of Attendance (COA), contact the Student Financial Aid office to determine whether you can file an appeal to increase your COA.
Even if your COA can be increased, this does not imply that all of your financial aid scholarships, grants, or other resources can be increased.
Unless otherwise specified, all Mizzou scholarships are not transferable to other schools within the University of Missouri System.
Mizzou scholarships are only accessible during the autumn and spring semesters (you will not earn them during the summer term).
If you are removed from the university due to misconduct, you will forfeit your Mizzou scholarship. If the renewal criteria are met at the end of the academic year (spring semester), you may recover eligibility in the future.
However, any semester(s) in which you were suspended will be included in your scholarship’s maximum eligibility of eight semesters.
If you do not fulfill the minimum renewal standards of total hours completed for the academic term and/or cumulative GPA at the end of the spring semester, your scholarship will only be maintained if a scholarship appeal is made and approved.
